In considering the exports of the OIC countries and the possible impact of closer integration
between the OIC countries, it is worth looking at whether the overall exports of the OIC
countries to the world are similar to what is being exported to other OIC countries. This can be
seen in the chart above which takes all the countries for which data is reported in 2010 and
compares their exports to the world with their exports to the OIC group of countries. We do
this using the Finger-Kreinin index of trade similarity. This index ranges between 0 and 1. If
