Hence, small banks give loan in higher share in their assets.

Banking system profitability is important for a sustainable business. There is a trade-off

between bank profitability and the financing cost of the private sector. There is no correct

figure about how high the ratio should be to have healthy banking system and low financing

cost for the country’s business sector. The profitability should align with the riskiness. Figure

4 shows Return on Average Asset in 2014. The highest profitability figure is in Sudan with 3.8

per cent.
