Preferential Trade Agreements and Trade Liberalization Efforts in the OIC Member States
With Special Emphasis on the TPS-OIC

Jordan
Jordanian imports and exports are more diversified than for Bangladesh. The top 10 Jordan exported
products represented around 55% of total Jordanian exports to the Contracting Countries of TPS-OIC.
In terms of imports, only those with tariffs greater than 10% will potentially receive a reduction in
the tariffs applied on the trade with the other Contracting Countries of TPS-OIC. Out of the top 10
imports there are only 5 products where the tariff is greater than 10%. Of the remaining products,
tariffs could potentially be reduced for natural gas, cane/beet sugar, and articles of jewellery. These 3
products account for nearly 8% of Jordanian imports. Should these products be included there would
be some scope for trade effects to take place.
