Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is another country for which the data is very limited. Therefore, we use what the other
Parties of TPS-OIC System have declared with regard to their trade with Saudi Arabia as a proxy for
its exports and imports. These top 10 products would represent nearly 35% of total Saudi Arabia
exports (excluding crude oil). As discussed, the effect on the Saudi Arabian exports to the other
Parties of TPS-OIC System would depend on the other member liberalisation schedules. In terms of
imports, we need to use what the other Parties of the TPS-OIC System have exported to Saudi Arabia
due to the lack of good direct trade data. As we mentioned, because Saudi Arabia is a member of GCC,
tariffs applied are all below the 10% that would trigger any obligatory reductions. Therefore, no
effect is to be expected on the imports of Saudi Arabia from other Parties of TPS-OIC System.
