trade and transport infrastructure, iii) the ease of arranging competitively priced shipments,

iv)the competence and quality of logistics services, v) the ability to track and trace consignments

and vi) the frequency with which shipments reach consignees within scheduled or expected

delivery times.

The LPI is used for comparative analysis and has a score between 1 and 5. The LPI was conducted

in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Tables 7 and 8 illustrate the OIC Countries with the

highest and lowest LPI scores for the last three periods. The figures illustrate that there is a wide

gap between countries.

Furthermore, according to World Bank (2018) Germany is the best performing country with an

LPI score of 4.2, followed by Sweden and Belgium. Among the OIC countries UAE is the best

performing country and has a score of 3.96 which is 94 percent of Germany’s score on a scale

from 1 to 5 whereas the lowest performing OIC country is Afghanistan with an LPI of 1.95 which

is 46 per cent of Germany’s score.
