As indicated in table 23, 4G deployment appears to be fairly advanced among the countries
with available data. On the other hand, as will be reported in the Cote d’Ivoire case study in
section V.1, 4G coverage in Sub-Saharan OIC Member Countries is still at its infancy.
Moving now to the type of technology, table 24 presents a breakdown of fixed broadband lines
in terms of ADSL, fiber optics lines (provisioned by a telecommunications carrier), cable
modem accesses (supplied by a cable TV operator), and other technology platforms (primarily
fixed wireless through WiMax platforms).
