- Up-to-date farm registers and area frames,
- Evaluation and audit of major statistical surveys and reporting of
confidence intervals,
- Micro and macro data dissemination policies,
- Publicly-known data dissemination calendars,
- Support from local governments.
METHODOLOGICAL NEEDS
Definition Criteria
Necessary knowledge, skills &
attitudes for production of
agricultural statistics
- Human resources endowed with statistical knowledge,
- Human resources with knowledge of agricultural economics,
- Individual subject based consultancies for strengthening
agricultural statistics in COMCEC member states,
- Comprehensive Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for staff to be
trained for collection, analysis and dissemination,
- Provision of necessary training on modern methodologies for
collecting, analyzing and disseminating agricultural statistics
based on comprehensive TNA,
- On the job training through subject-based consultancies,
- Incentives for stopping the erosion in qualified and experienced
human resources.
