In order to identify effective strategies and policy recommendations a series of eight case studies
were also conducted: four were OIC Member States (i.e. Indonesia, Turkey, Tunisia, The Gambia),
and four were non-OIC countries (i.e. South Africa, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Sri Lanka).

targeted markets and segments
Undertake programmes through public-private sector partnerships
Rebuild destination image through close matching of products to less crisis sensitive market
segments
Highlight Islamic traditions of hospitality and welcome
Implement longer term infrastructural improvements
