China’s One Belt One Road Initiative (OBOR) and the Maritime Silk Road (MSR)

In 2013-2014 China launched a corridor initiative to connect China with other Asian countries, Africa

and Europe, but also with the other continents. This One Belt One Road Initiative (OBOR) was aiming

at facilitating industrial, trade and transport relations between China and the countries elsewhere in

the world, and promoting Chinese companies to invest and operate industries in emerging economies

and source natural resources for the growth of its own economy. OBOR also includes the Maritime Silk

Road (MSR), as illustrated i
