The Office of Cereals and Pulses (ONICL) collect weekly prices of 4 main cereals (durum wheat,

soft wheat, barley and maize) and pulses (beans, peas, chickpeas and lentils) in rural souks and

halls, urban grain centres. It publishes monthly bulletins on these statistics in newsletters

which can be found on the website of the ONICL. Ministry of Industry, Trade and New

Technologies (MICNT) conducts surveys to track food prices. MICNT also conducts an

exhaustive survey of all agro-industrial firms employing 10 or more people, as well as those

with less than 10 employees but with an annual turnover greater than or equal to 12,000 USD.

Dissemination of Agricultural Statistics

The dissemination of agricultural statistics is essentially in hardcopy. The electronic medium is

rarely used but efforts are underway to develop them. A site dedicated to statistics on

agriculture is already functional at MAPM, albeit currently for internal use only. Several
