v. Main Agricultural Surveys and Data Sources
Agricultural Censuses: The last general census of agriculture in the country was conducted in
1996. Since then, Morocco has experienced significant changes in its agriculture. MAPM is
planning a new agricultural census to be undertaken in 2014. There has also been a Census of
Citrus in 2006 and a Census of Fruit Plantations in 2011. Publications of these census results
are at the national and provincial levels.
Annual, Monthly, Weekly and Daily Surveys: Regular surveys on production, area and yield
of crops (mainly cereals and pulses), herd size, prices received by producers, as well as
wholesale and retail prices, are conducted annually, monthly, weekly and daily as shown in
Tables 43 and Table 44. The results are published at national and provincial levels.
