India, as the third largest source country in terms of number of FDI projects, contributes
significantly to both labour-intensive and capital-intensive FDI projects. Analysing individual
FDI projects at country level helps to further explain these interesting outliers. In the case of
India, there is one landmark deal by the SIVA Group that influences the country’s averages due
to its significant scale, and this project is illustrated in Box 1.
