In Asian countries, produced wastewater is the most common type of wastewater
use. Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Kazakhstan are the largest wastewater user countries.
Kazakhstan mostly uses desalinated water. With regard to use of treated and re-used
wastewater, Turkey is located in the front row. Wastewater use in Indonesia, which has
the highest level of water resources, is at negligible levels (Annex 6).
