The main objectives when the NCFTP was created were:

To reduce the time of import and export operations, particularly at ports and

customs clearance;

To reform documents through the adoption of a national series of documents aligned with

the United Nations template;

To promote electronic data interchange (EDI) specific to foreign trade at both a national and

an international level;

To introduce procedures involving ex-post control;

To simplify and standardize the information that operators must provide in material customs

clearance procedures;

To provide operators with a practical guide on international business procedures;

To define remedies and establish procedures for arbitration and dispute settlement between

operators and relevant administrative departments.
