The maximum delay before issuing an AEO certificate is 90 calendar days as from the

reception of the application. Upon acceptance, the competent Customs Authority

informs all EU Member States of the accepted application by uploading the application

in the central EU AEO system within 5 days.

Other Member States can consult the database within 35 working days to inform AEO

Section of any comments they may wish to make in relation to individual applications.

The competent AEO authority refers accepted applications to a control officer in the

relevant region or Large Cases Division to evaluate the entitlement of the economic
