Annex 6 to OIC/COMCEC/36-20/REP
93
We need to explore the possibility of having “safe travel corridors” and “travel bubbles”
among OIC countries.
Within this context, I would like to highlight once more Turkey’s “Safe Tourism
Certification Programme”.
Distinguished Participants,
Palestinian cause constitutes the basis of the establishment of the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation.
Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif are always at the core of our hearts. Likewise, they
should be also at the core of our actions.
Unfortunately, the Israeli occupation continues to further isolate the Palestinian people.
We must adopt a common stance on the Palestine issue.
We should therefore urgently take the necessary steps that our Palestinian brothers and
the Islamic Ummah have been expecting.
Within this context, I sincerely appreciate the newly initiated COMCEC Al-Quds
Program.
I hope that the program would contribute to improving the socio-economic conditions
there.
I hope this program would promote Al-Quds Al Sharif as a competitive tourism
destination.
Esteemed Delegates,
The total trade volume of Islamic countries in 2019 approached 4 trillion USD.
That shows an increase in the volume of foreign trade over the years.
But, periodic fluctuations and decreases in export revenues are also experienced due to
the oil prices.
Increasing volume of trade and deepening our trade cooperation are indeed effective
remedies for global economic uncertainties.
As highlighted by His Excellency President ERDOĞAN yesterday, we have to
transform our trade structure from mainly raw or semi manufactured goods to value-
added production and trade.
