INAUGURAL ADDRESS BY H.E. RECEP TAYYİP ERDOĞAN,
PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY AND
CHAIRMAN OF THE COMCEC
AT THE OPENING SESSION
OF THE THIRTY SIX SESSION OF THE COMCEC
(25 NOVEMBER, 2020)
BİSMİLLAHİRRAHMANİRRAHİM.
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL
Dear Ministers,
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
May God's greetings, mercy and abundance be upon you.
It is my honor to greet you all as President of the Republic of Turkey and Chairman of
COMCEC with my most heartfelt feelings of affection and respect.
I wish the 36
th
Ministerial Session of the Economic and Commercial Cooperation
Standing Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be beneficial for
our region, our countries and the Islamic world.
Just as we have done every year, I truly wish we could host you in Istanbul this time.
However, as you know, we have had to conduct this meeting online due to the COVID-
19 epidemic that has swept the entire world.
God willing, we can overcome this period with the least harm and hold subsequent
meetings face-to-face.
I wish mercy from Allah upon those who have lost their lives in the epidemic and a
speedy recovery to all our sick brothers and sisters as well.
I pray to Mawla to save us, the Islamic world and all humanity from this evil virus as
soon as possible.
I also reminisce the late-Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah, the Chairman of the Islamic
Chamber of Commerce, the late-Sheikh Salih Kamil, and the Deputy Secretary General
of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the late-Ahmed Senyomo, whom have
recently passed away.
